Music & Theater in the Park


Come join us this Saturday for Music & Theater in the Park at Dunne Park in downtown Hollister! Here's the lineup for the event:

Save the Date!

Mark your calendars for the Arts Council's Music and Theater in the Park from 1:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, August 20th at Dunne Park in downtown Hollister. In partnership with the Hollister Youth Alliance, Music and Theater in the Park will feature a full day of musical and theatrical performances by talented local artists, musicians and performers.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy music and entertainment for the entire family! The event is free and open to the public.

2011 Regranting Applications

Applications are now available for our 2011 Regranting Program. We will be accepting proposals for mini-grants up to $500 from individual artists and arts organizations until August 5th.

Open Studios Art Tour: April 16-17

The San Benito County Arts Council will hold their annual Open Studios Art Tour on

April 16-17, 10 am to 4 pm

Open Studios offers the public the unique opportunity to visit local artists’ studios and experience how and where art is created. This year’s tour highlights the work of 24 artists in Hollister, San Juan and Aromas, including photographers, painters, sculptors, printmakers, jewelry makers, quilters and stained glass makers, and will also feature a rural winery that designs unique, hand-painted labels for their boutique wines.

In conjunction with the Charming Chairs and Quilts Exhibit, the Blak Sage Gallery will host the Open Studios:

The San Benito County Arts Council will be hosting the annual "Celebration for the Arts" as a benefit for Arts Education in San Benito County on Friday, April 29, 2011. The event will be held at San Juan Oaks Gold Club from 6pm to 10pm and will feature Salsa Legend, Julio Bravo .

The New Monthly e-Newsletter

The San Benito County Arts Council released its first monthly Newsletter, last month (December 2010).

The Newsletter is divided into sections providing information concerning county-wide events, performances, exhibitions, workshops, classes, and calls for artists.

The Newsletter will produce greater cohesion amongst the county's artistic community by providing a medium dedicated to the spread of information regarding Current Council Agendas as well as community activities aimed toward artists of all types in San Benito County.

We hope that all will find this new feature useful.
